Black Beauty

4 cups water

1 cup Chinese almonds (apricot kernels), soaked 8 hours or overnight, drained and rinsed

1 cup black sesame seeds, soaked 2 hours or overnight, drained and rinsed

1½ cups Chinese red dates (jujubes), pitted and packed

Pinch of mineral sea salt

 

Blend all ingredients together until smooth.  Strain through a nut milk bag or cheesecloth.  Drink immediately or store up to 2 days in the refrigerator.  Serves 2 to 4

 

Basic Green Smoothie

Recipe
1 bunch of leafy greens (spinach, kale, romaine, etc.)
1 ripe banana (peeled)
1 mango (peeled and seeded)
1 cup orange juice or purified water
Squeeze of lemon
Ice cubes (optional)

Directions

Blend ingredients in a blender adding water first.  Add ice cubes in gradually.  I usually don’t use ice cubes as foods are best digested at body temperature.

Almond Milk

Recipe
1 cup almonds, soaked 8 hours, drained and rinsed
3 cups water
½ cup medjool or honey dates
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

Blend all the ingredients together and pour the mixture through a strainer, usually a nut bag or cheese cloth.  The flour pulp left over can be stored in a sealed container in the freezer for up to two months.  Almond flour can replace other flours in recipes.

Lemon Ginger Detox

Lemon Ginger Detox
2 slices of lemon
2 slices of ginger
2 tablespoons honey
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
Pinch of cayenne
4 cups of warm to hot water

Directions
With all ingredients in a glass jar, pour hot water and stir.

Strawberry Calcium Boost

1 cup strawberries, fresh or frozen
1 banana
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons black or white sesame seeds, soaked 2 hours, drained and rinsed

Blend all the ingredients together.  Serves 1

Chocolate Malt Shake

3 cups Chinese almond milk (visit Chinese Almond Milk recipe)
2 bananas
1/4 cup cacao powder
1/4 cup tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons Maca Powder
1 tablespoon coconut oil (liquefied)
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch of salt
2 cup2 ice cubes

Blend all ingredients together, while gradually adding in the frozen bananas and ice cubes.  Serves 2
